A Northern Light Review

I recently won the book A Nothern Light by Jennifer Donnelly via The Reclusive Bibliophile and I wanted to take a moment to give you a review. First off, I absolutely LOVE reading (almost as much as getting free stuff), and I was super thrilled to have been the winner of this giveaway.

A Northern Light is a young adult read, but I think that most everyone could appreciate it. This book is set in the 1700's in New England and is about a very smart 17 year old girl who is trapped between staying with her family to help farm, clean and raise the children (her mother died, and she is the eldest), or going off to college and pursuing her dream as a writer.

There are a lot of twists and turns (and of course, romance) to this book, and it is narrated almost completely over a mysterious murder that happened one summer at a local inn she was working at.

I won't give any more details away, just know that this book was one worth reading. I haven't found anything like it thus far, and I just recently lent this book to my mother-in-law to read over the holidays.
